Qualified Provider Courses

The following courses will be available for Qualified Providers as a computer-based training (CBT). It includes the following trainings.

Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP)

The Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP) is a New York State public health insurance program that provides free, confidential family planning and reproductive health services to eligible individuals who are not enrolled in Medicaid. The program helps prevent unintended pregnancies by covering services such as birth control, STI testing, pregnancy counseling, and related preventive care for New Yorkers who meet income and residency requirements.

These five (5) module computer-based training series provides an overview of the Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP).  It covers the screening process for Presumptive Eligibility (PE), provides a complete review of the application for FPBP (DOH-4282), and reviews the documentation that is required for continued eligibility.  This training series also covers the 24-month post-partum Family Planning Extension Program (FPEP).

Presumptive Eligibility (PE) for Pregnant Consumers 

Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Consumers (PEPC), a New York State program that provides immediate, short-term Medicaid coverage to support timely prenatal care. The modules guide assistors through eligibility screening, application steps in the MECM system, and key program rules, while emphasizing how to help consumers transition from temporary coverage to full Medicaid benefits for continued care during pregnancy and postpartum.

These four (4) modules provide the learner with an introduction to presumptive eligibility for pregnant consumers in MECM, review the screening process for pregnant consumers in MECM, explain the steps for establishing on-going coverage for pregnant consumers, and walk the provider through the various scenarios they will see as a qualified provider.
