Assistor Certification Training is for individuals who are already employed by established NY State of Health Assistor agencies or agencies who are looking to become established Assistor agencies. This training is not for brokers or individuals seeking credentials or skills to help them find employment.

Your Maximus training experience features an in-classroom training approach that is integrated, blended, and active to make certain that we address all learning styles.

These trainings will also be based on performance learning with an emphasis on hands-on activities and is well suited for adult learning with a focus on retaining the learned information.

Training includes instructor-led classes, self-paced online learning, simulations, interactive exercises, demonstrations, and periodic quizzes and assessments. Throughout your training, we’ll connect the dots between policies and procedures, and the actual work activities and systems they pertain to, which will help enhance your learning.

This website provides you easy access to find course descriptions and session dates on an interactive calendar. Program Information and Overview
 

The New York State Department of Health contracts with Maximus, Inc. to provide training services for the Office of Health Insurance Programs Division of Eligibility and Marketplace Integration.

Maximus, Inc. designs and delivers training and technical assistance on New York State's health insurance programs to the Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS), New York State of Health Application Assistors, and any other entities that assist individuals enrolling in health insurance.

This program offers training in decentralized locations throughout New York State to increase accessibility to training.

Our programs use diverse training methodologies such as instructor-led training, online learning programs and webinars. Our training methodology provides performance-based learning as well as ensuring consistency with policy reform and updates.
