Training Program for FE ABDs
Maximus, Inc. works very closely with the New York State Department of Health in developing a comprehensive training course description for FE ABD enrollers.
Overview: Facilitated Enrollment for the Aged, Blind and Disabled and Medicare Outreach Program
FE ABDs assist applicants in the completion of the application.
This assistance includes the following:
Providing application assistance including:
seeing, copying and/or recording information about documents that verify eligibility requirements such as original identity and citizenship documents;
assisting in the completion of the application and
assisting in the collection of various documentation items;
Screening the family for the appropriate program;
Submitting the completed application, documentation and enrollment form to the local district;
Counseling the applicant on managed care plan selection, where appropriate; and
Following up with the applicant to ensure that they complete the application process.
Perform outreach to applicants enrolled in Medicaid who appear Medicare eligible.
Inform and educate applicants of the requirement to apply for Medicare as a condition of maintaining their Medicaid eligibility; assist applicants in applying for Medicare and gathering required documentation.
In order to become certified, individuals must complete the Facilitated Enroller Certification Training Program by completing the 5-hour online Facilitated Enroller Certification Training Program via the Maximus Learning Management System (Absorb) Enrollment Process.
Register: Absorb Registration Process for Facilitated Enrollers
Before you can successfully enroll in your first training course, you will need to register in the Absorb Learning Management System (LMS). This system houses all your learning management and resource needs.
Individuals looking to become Facilitated Enrollers may register in Absorb and sign up for the Facilitated Enroller Certification Training Program - Online training (5 hour) class.
Click the ACCESS REQUEST FORM - FACILITATED ENROLLERS link below to provide your Absorb registration information. When completing this form, keep in mind:

Once you select the Agency Name from the available drop-down menu (cell B14), all fields underneath will automatically populate for the agency.
Once finished, save and send the form to RegistrationTSP@maximus.com.
Once we receive your form, MAXIMUS staff will validate your information and complete your Absorb registration process.
At this point your Absorb registration is now complete and we will send you an email confirmation within one (1) business day. Upon receipt of this email, please click on the Absorb link provided and create your password.
Please note:
Check all applicable folders for this email, i.e. spam or junk. If the email went to one of those folders, please mark the sender as “Safe,” as additional emails are generated upon course enrollment.
Be sure to store your Absorb username and password in a safe, secure place for future use.
This is a one-time only registration process to establish your Absorb access.
Congratulations! You are now able to access and enroll in the Assistor certification course as well as other computer-based Assistor trainings in Absorb.
Please be advised that once you click on the “Self-Enroll” button you will have 20 days to complete the training.

Now that you are registered in the Absorb Learning Management System, you are now able to access course information, course enrollment, training resources, and much more. Access Absorb here, search for a course, and click the Enroll button.

Already Completed the Training?
If you have already completed the training and need to access training resources, please email your request to Eligibility.Training.Support@health.ny.gov. You will be given review access to the content through our Absorb Learning Management System (LMS).
